Active Kids at St Carthage's

Active Kids is a home away from home. We have designed our space to be a place where children can be crafty, sporty, playful and also a place where they can relax.

Our Before School Care program runs from 6:45am to bell time. We provide a healthy breakfast too. In the cooler months this is often porridge, or a cooked meal like french toast. During the warmer months we have things like cereal and bacon and eggs and a variety the kids can choose from as well as big bowl of fruit.

Our After School Care program runs from bell time to 6pm. We provide a nutritious afternoon tea and there is always something new, maybe a yoghurt bar or hummus and veggie sticks or some freshly popped popcorn and we have at least 4 different variety of fruits and veggies to choose from. Of an afternoon we play a fun physical activity, children are able to complete their homework if they wish and there is plenty of time for games and craft too.

We run Vacation Care from 7am - 6pm during school holidays and on staff development days too. We spend all term creating the best Vacation Care program possible and have 3 main activities a day. In the past we've had visits from NRL greats like Anthony Miniciello and Nathan Hindmarsh, excursions to The Pass in Byron Bay, had awesome artists in for workshops and visits from people like forensic detectives, Westpac Helicopter life savers, Lifeguard Maxi from Bondi Rescue and local MP's. We've even had acrobats come in to develop a circus with us. Other highlights had massive inflatable obstacle courses and waterslides! Our staff go above and beyond to make each activity as special and memorable as possible!
